the press release says: "if Depeche Mode and Lady Gaga had a musical lovechild in 2030, J786 would be the product of that union". i'm not even sure humans will be involved in the music making process by that point in time so i'll say this is a more like Black Eyed Peas' brand of dancefloor friendly synth pop. unbearably catchy? jesus yes. deep and meaningful? not really. will it make you wish Tuesday was the new Friday? yes.

too humblin'.

i'm not sure anything i can say will justify the magicality (yes, magicality) of Oberhofer.

meow meow.

my best friend is in a band named after his favourite thing in the whole world.

already featured by the effortlessly cool Don't Die Wondering, and soon to be bummed into hipster oblivion by a number of publications, D/R/U/G/S offer up their brand of cosmic electronic beats to the world in the form of 'Diamond Pacific', a track drenched in trippy blips and blobs.

three years.

totally missed my blog birthday a couple days ago. THREE YEARS.

thanks to anyone who's ever stolen a post, claimed that another blog tipped them off, used my work in their A&R meetings, DMCA'd my arse, left me a spam comment or taken me off their blog roll because i'm not l33t enough. you guys are AWSM.

have something trendy.

pop starlet in the making Sophie-Rose has already had a teeny taste of the limelight as a backing vocalist for Mystery Jets, but now it's her time to shine.

super sultry tones linger over an up-tempo bassline and the hint of an organ and shake of maracas smell of singalongs galore. it's one hundred percent feel good, summertime pop music and i can't wait to hear more. keep your eyes on this one.
